Meanwhile, the secret thingy I was talking about last week are the after stories.
- Wanko route, as you know, has been put on hold (?) as the TL hasn't reported in for a while.
- We now have a new TL, who knows Japanese pretty well, so he's trying his hand at the Momoyo after story. Pun-kun is going to TLC, to make sure there aren't any 'major' fuck-ups. We also have an editor for those routes as well (if he's not available, it'll be me editing).
Status remains unchanged at 50% translated 20% edited, as the editor has said, because of the finals. It will probably be like that next week as well, but with winter break, Pun-kun will probably get things done faster.
There are some other things, but I won't get into those yet as they've not been fully decided.

DeleteI'd rather have Wanko's over Momoyo's. But that's just one person's opinion... Since the one translator taking care of Wanko's route is failing so bad, does that mean you guys won't pick it up if he doesn't meet your expectations? That'd be a big letdown, but you guys already did so much.
ReplyDeleteAww that's too bad... I'm really glad Tsubamen's route was coming alot earlier than planned, she is the one that looks most interesting. I'm also looking forward to wanko's route as that was the best one in the first game imo. Even though i haven't gone through the last route (sensei's) yet.

ReplyDeleteI was wondering if there would be any way to sub the anime cutscenes in the game. I can add the subs in and hardsub them in (preferably softsub) if it's possible. Has anyone looked into a way to do so? I'm assuming the cutscenes are in the Visual.pac, so if there is a way to decompress it, it might be possible to re-compress it with subs.
ReplyDeleteHuh? They're the save folder (look at your my documents) encoded with MPEG-1, you can sub them with Aegisub and then hardcode the final stylized sub with some tools like avisynth.
DeleteIf you are talking about "C:\Users\user\Documents\みなとそふと\真剣で私に恋しなさい！Ｓ" folder, the only things in my save folder are my saves (surprise) and sceenshots. If you're talking about the Movies folder in the game files, those are only the Endings/Opening. Unless I'm missing something, I don't see the files for the in-game anime cutscenes.

Well, I decided to try to edit the OP just to mess around, and it's definitely possible.

Note: I just used a random .ass (pun unintended) file I had from a another song I was made karaoke for. I just wanted to see if replacing the file in the Movie folder worked, and it did.
The only issue is that it requires re-encoding, and it has a somewhat noticeable drop in quality unless I really jack the bitrate to higher than the source.
If I can find a way to get to the other videos, I definitely would be interested in adding in subs though. Either way, it is not terribly hard, and it would be neat if someone did it.
